2	"Please Note The Following:" Please Note The Following: The web based install directions were created from Power Point HTML conversations. They were not meant to be fast normal web pages. Because of the constant updates and changes this is a quick and easy format for StarCare to use and pass along to clients.
3	Please Note ! These directions are for Standard Workstations. We assume the following: OS = Win 2000 – WinXP Pro & IE 6.0 StarCare does not support ME – XP home – 95 GoldMine GMCE 6.0+ Working TCP Network Windows 2000 + Server StarCare Installed GoldMine Server Basic Admin Training for GoldMine Install These directions are for StarCare Systems Clients
4	Another Note J These are directions for basic workstation install. Either laptop or Desktop being used as a standard workstation ONLY. This is NOT for an un-docked install! This is NOT for a DUAL install These directions follow the StarCare Install Rules Dual Laptop install = Network & Undocked install on same computer
5	Step 1 Check the Workstation (WS) to make sure the Borland BDE is NOT installed! Go to “Control Panel” and look for Borland BDE. If it is there then open and read the path on the title bar If local Path c:\ ???? Make Note you will have to merge later.
6	Step 2a Map Drive from Server Normally “S” drive but could be different Map to “FRS” share on the GoldMine Server After map the drive you should see a “GoldMine” folder
7	Step 2b Open Windows Explorer Goto Tools “Map Drive”
8	Step 2c Be sure to map to the correct location Be sure to map to the correct Drive Letter
9	Step 3 Install MSSQL Client If this is a StarCare Install you can find the MSSQL client on the GoldMine Server You can also install from the MSSQL CD \\GoldMine-Server\Flats\MSSQL\X86\Setup\SetupSQL.exe Install Client Connectivity Only Note you will get an error message when you start to do this install. This is planned, please just click past.
10	Step 4a You must know the name or IP address of your main MSSQL Server. This may or may not be the same as the GoldMine Application Server. In the next step you will have to tell the MSSQL Client where to find the MSSQL Server. The Workstation will NOT work without this setting.
11	Step 4b Setup MSSQL Client on WS \Start\Programs\MSSQL Server Client Network Utility Set 2^nd Tab “Alias” for TCP and Your Server
12	Step 4c You have completed the install of the MSSQL Client.
13	Please READ! - Step 5 Notes GoldMine 6.5 and before use any or all the steps in 5 a – z. GoldMine 6.7 SPK2 Build 50123 has a different install process. Steps 5 will work but you will not be able to use Answer Wizard. Install for GM 6.7/2 is Step #6 NOTE none of these apply to GM 7.0
14	Step 5a Option2 - Follow steps 5 b c d e f----- Install of the GoldMine WS Client (GM 6.5 and before) From your Mapped Share (This is a must!) We will assume the drive is “S” S:\GoldMine\WSSetup.exe Click on this install EXE file and follow the directions
15	Step 5b Click Next to continue
16	Step 5c Check off all settings to continue Next>
17	Step 5d We suggest that most users get Answer Wizard Crystal Reports Manager’s Console should only be given to a few
18	Step 5e We suggest that you normally take the default path.
19	Step 5f Last screen before final install
20	Step 6 Notes GM 6.7/2 Build 50123 You still must do the mapped drive You still must do the MSSQL Client All before you get to Step 6 Note GM 6.7/2 installs from the CD. StarCare always puts a copy of the GM install CD in the Flats Folder if there is room.
21	GoldMine CD install Screen Select Install GoldMine
22	Click till you get here Select New
23	For WS select option below
24	Point Back to the Server StarCare assumes s:\GoldMine Yours may be different
25	Next Click Install GoldMine will now install the WS Put an icon on the desktop And launch the GoldMine program Answer Wizard is now a separate install Start CD over again for AW. StarCare provides separate config directions for AW
26	Select Mgr Intel for Answer Wizard Reports This installs locally just follow the wizard See Answer Wiz Separate Config Directions
27	Finish Basic Install WS When this is done you should see this screen
28	WS Install Options With GoldMine it is possible to do an additional level of install. We call this the local install where the EXE – HLP – DLL – DIC files are downloaded to the local drive for quicker delivery to the user. GoldMine will normally monitor and pass GoldMine updates to the WS automacally when the GoldMine Server is updated. If you are a New StarCare GoldMine Install we suggest waiting for this option until after the final GoldMine Launch. Many settings will change during the launch phase and may cause you extra work if you do now. The following pages have directions for the “GoldMine Local WS Install”

32	Step 3 Type in the “C:\GoldNet\ path Check off both options Click install This will be a slow load Wait for system to finish
33	GoldMine Local Install Finished GoldMine is now installed Locally! GoldMine updates will be automatically applied from the GoldMine Server Clean up the Icons on the Desktop There will be a couple of extra GM Icons
