Because of the constant updates and changes this is a quick and easy format for StarCare to use and pass along to clients.
3	StarCare Install Directions This document will walk you through a GoldMine BCM 6 install of a single user Un-Docked System. Then we will walk you through the sync setup for your first sync. GoldMine will install on Win2000 or Win-XP. StarCare does not support ME or XP-Home GoldMine will look for IE 6.0 to be installed. This is on the Install CD if you need to upgrade. 4	Special Note!! This install MUST be done in the correct order shown here!! Undocked install WS Install You Must Have The GoldMine CD Laptop MUST NOT Be connected to the network during install. This will damage the GoldMine Server Install!!!

9	Exception to the Undocked install Sometimes (we do not know why but we think this is a GoldMine installer problem) you will not see the UnDocked Option. Only if you do not follow the steps below. Stop your install Open the Windows Explorer and go to the “Supplemental” Folder on the GoldMine install CD. Click on the GM6Setup.exe file and continue back where we left off. (This is a 33+ mg file) This will install the undocked GoldMine 6.5

33	Local Network Install These directions are only for DUAL install Undocked Install & WS install on the same laptop. You must have completed and have a working Undocked install before you follow these next few steps.
34	Step 1 Connect your laptop to the network Be Signed in Map a network drive Check to see what correct drive should be We assume “S” drive in our directions
35	Step 2a Map Drive from Server Normally “S” drive but could be different Map to “FRS” share on the GoldMine Server After map the drive you should see a “GoldMine” folder
36	Step 2b Open Windows Explorer Goto Tools “Map Drive”
37	Step 2c Be sure to map to the correct location Be sure to map to the correct Drive Letter
38	Step 2d You MUST Merge the BDE settings from the Server for the WS install to work. Goto Windows Control Panel Find the BDE icon and open
39	Step 2e Merge the BDE settings with the Server Open Object and Merge the settings with the Server \Object\Merge Config
40	Step 2f Open Browse Windows and follow: S:\GoldMine\Setup\BDE Share\Idaip32.cfg Yes it ok to Merge Yes this is a one way Merge Now the BDE setting are done and will need to be updated it there is a Database change on the server. This is rare.
41	Step 3a Open Windows Explorer Goto Your “S” Drive Open the GoldMine Folder Find the file “GMW6.exe Launch GoldMine from GMW6.exe

46	Step 4d Type in the “C:\GoldNet\ path Check off both options Click install This will be a slow load Wait for system to finish
47	Step 4e GoldMine is now installed Locally! GoldMine updates will be automatically applied from the GoldMine Server Clean up the Icons on the Desktop We suggest on Icon be “GoldMine UnDocked” We suggest the other be “GoldMine Network”
