- Please Note The Following:
- The web based install
directions were created from Power Point HTML conversations. They were not meant to be fast normal
web pages. Because of the
constant updates and changes this is a quick and easy format for
StarCare to use and pass along to clients.

- This document will walk you through a GoldMine 8.+ Un-Docked System (Remote Computer)
- This will walk you through MSSQL_Express 2005
- GoldMine GMPE Undocked Install
- Then we will walk you through the sync setup for your first sync.
- GoldMine will install on Win-XP Pro.
- StarCare does not support ME or
XP-Home
- GoldMine will look for IE 6.0 to be installed. This is on the Install CD
if you need to upgrade.
- You MUST have the GoldMine CD
- You MUST have your GoldMine Serial Number (Undocked)

- Please Note
- StarCare DOES NOT SUPPORT Firebird SQL – DO NOT INSTALL IT!
- MSSQL Express is free from Microsoft
- It does have a 4 Gig limit, but that should not be an issue for
remotes.
- Please check to make sure you have 15+ Gigs open on your system. We will not use all of this but if
you have less then you are in trouble

- Next we start to walk through the GoldSync wizard. This is a one time process.
- To get to the next screen from within GoldMine
- Select \Tools
- Select \Synchronize
- Select \ Synchronize Wizard

- Here is our theory on running GoldMine Sync.
- Total Control from the server by the Admin
- Run the Remotes wide open – all settings
- Only manager from the server
- When GoldSync runs it goes through the following steps:
- Check the local machine and gather all changes from last sync
- Create Transfer Set – Compile it – Encrypt it
- Connect to the Sync Server at the main office
- Knock on the door - Send
ID - Confirm IP
- Check last sync success – If no success server will re-send
- Send sync set to server – Server will process and return sync set
- Receive Sync set from the server and process.
- Done
